The key focus of TRIFED, functioning under the Ministry of Tribal Affair, is marketing and development of tribal products, facilitation, co-ordination and promotion of the marketing of the tribal products, development of market intelligence network, entailing information pertaining to supply, demand, price trends, supply/market chain, etc. and facilitating the development of new products, through means, such as product development, product innovation and product designs. It also collaborates and networks with similar bodies (both national and international), such as NGOs, Societies, Co-operatives, Foundations, etc.
