It is India’s apex body of performing arts. Its key focus areas are promotion of music, dance and theater training and preservation of traditional, folk and tribal performing arts through sponsoring and promoting young artists, offering quality training in the identified areas of performing arts, especially which suffer from lack of such trainings, support to children’s theater and documentation (audio, video and photographic) and research activities.
