Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom (DHH) plays a major role in promotion and preservation of the ethnic arts and crafts of Sikkim. It works through a Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited that aims at facilitating marketing of relevant products, apart from creating more jobs and avenues for the craftsmen; sets up Training Centers which offers training in various traditional arts and crafts, such as carpet weaving,  handloom weaving, Thangka painting, wood carving, mask making, cane & bamboo crafts, etc. and participation in annual crafts fairs.
