Rural Entrepreneurship for Art and Cultural Heritage (REACH) is a non-profit organization engaged in generating awareness for arts, traditions and cultural practices at the grass-root level in Uttarakhand. By making people aware of their rich cultural traditions and practices and undertaking activities that preserve this heritage, it strives to restore cultural pride to the indigenous communities that were left helpless by the onslaught of alien values. It strives to preserve the native wisdom and knowledge by striking a harmonious bond with the modern times.
REACH aims at setting up a Himalayan Heritage Center in Uttarakhand, with the aim of preserving, documenting, and silently providing wherewithal for conservation of the traditions that have sustained the communities in this region. It intends to study the symbiotic relationship between culture and development and also has a plan for setting up a Gurukul where expert would spend time to impart wisdom to their disciples. |
