The scheme was launched in the year 1994 and is valid until the year 2011. The scheme is entirely financed by the central government. It Scheme provides financial assistance for promotion of the innovative ideas for generating income and employment in rural areas through support to the various types of agri-business.

The scheme envisages the provision of financial assistance to the Small Farmers’ Agri-Business Consortium, in the form of Grants-in-aid for achieving the objective given above.
