| Description/Purpose: |
Provides social assistance benefits to the poor and destitute living below poverty line. It was transferred to the State Sector Scheme since 2002-03. Prior to 2002-03, the scheme was a central sector scheme introduced by GOI from August 1995. |

| Particulars: |
All men women above 65 years of age belonging to Below Poverty line Families are entitled for a monthly pension of Rs. 200/- from Central Government. State Governments may also give additional amount (Which is Rs. 200 per month from the age 62 to 65 yrs). You may collect your pension through bank or Post office account to ensure full payment. |
