  Under Food Processing Training Centre (FPTC) Scheme
   

Ministry of Food Processing Industries

 
Description/Purpose:

To facilitate the Development of Rural entrepreneurship To aid in transfer of technology for processing of food product by utilizing locally grown raw material and providing "Hands-on" experience at such production cum training centres, while giving priority to SC/ST/OBC and women.

 
Particulars:

While submitting applications the following points may be kept in view:
Organizations can seek assistance for single or multi line FPTC.
The promoters must have the basic infrastructure of building to the satisfaction of State Nodal Agency and the production requirement.
The organization will have to procure from their own sources furniture, teaching material and other items required for training
The expenditure on account of salary of the staff will be borne by the promoters.
The organization should have a minimum turn over of Rs.2.50 lakhs in case of multi line and Rs.1 lakh for single line centre in the preceding year.
The NGOs and Cooperatives have to submit an affidavit that the organization has or has not availed of assistance from any Govt. Deptt or organization.
If assistance has been availed, details may be given
The organization will have to follow the syllabus prescribed
The organization will have to conduct training of at least four batches of 25 persons each a year.
The organization will have to obtain an FPO licence after installation of plant & machinery and for seed capital.
The organization will have to tie up arrangement for sale of their products to the cooperatives, departmental stores, marketing associations or food processing industries
The organization shall have an existing agreement with nearby Agricultural University/Institutions/Govt. Training Centre for providing technical support and guidance to the centre and monitoring their training work.

Grant in aid would be available to the FPTCs to the following extent.

Description Amount of Assistance
Single Product Line Centre (for any one group of processing activities) Rs. 2 lakh for fixed capital costs and Rs. 1 lakh as revolving seed capital.
Multi Product Line Centre (for more than one group of processing activities) Rs.7.50 lakhs for fixed capital costs of processing activities and Rs.2.00 lakhs as revolving seed capital
For training the trainers at recognized institute such as CRRI, Mysore Upto Rs. 0.50 lakhs subject to actual on TA/DA etc.
