| Description/Purpose: |
It basically aims at making target women sustainably employable or self-employable through training and skill enhancement. |

| Particulars: |
The Department of Women Empowerment & Child Development is implementing the scheme with some backing from Norway. The scheme seeks to cater to poor and needy women, and also women from financially weaker sections of the society (such as SC/ST groups). The scheme also entails providing of financial assistance to undertake training programmes for various trades, with the latter covering both traditional as well as non-traditional trades. |

| Beneficiaries: |
| The scheme is implemented and executed at the ground level by selected NGOs. The State Women Development Corporations (WDCs) play the role of nodal agencies. |
