| Description/Purpose: |
Training women in new agricultural practices and techniques, such as use of improved tools and implements, use of better quality seeds and pesticides, use of scientific methods, etc. The idea behind the scheme is that training women to use more effective agricultural practices will eventually enhance Uttarakhand’s agricultural production as a whole, as women play a key role in the agricultural production of the state. |

| Particulars: |
The Rural Development Department offers training to 20 women, divided into groups. The concerned women are trained on improved and more effective agricultural techniques, methods and practices. Special focus in given on training women from SC/ST communities. The International Fund funds the project for Agricultural Development (IFAD). |

| Beneficiaries: |
| Women from the state’s villages, especially those women who are from SC/ST communities. |
