The scheme is of 10 years from January 2002 to January 2012. The Scheme has been started for the creation of suitable water sources for ensuring irrigation to horticultural crops. Farmers are eligible under this scheme.

Rs 1 lakh is provided for water storage tanks or water streams/rivulets for the purpose of irrigation to 1 ha area (300 cu. m. / 3 lakh litre capacity). The amount is subject to a maximum limit of Rs. 10 lakh per tank for irrigating command area of 10 hectares. Rs. 12500 per unit is provided to set up tube well or bore well by individual farmer or by the community.
