| Description/Purpose: |
The scheme was launched on 27th January 2004 with the objective to create infrastructure facilities for Post-Harvest Management, Marketing and Exports of agricultural commodities. The funding pattern is Cooperative/Private/Joint Sector Markets 25% of the total cost - Maximum of Rs.60.00 lakhs. |

Following facilities are provided
Marketing infrastructure like: -
- Wholesale Markets
- Rural Primary Markets
- Apni Mandies
- Agmark- strengthening of grading Laboratories and Agriculture Marketing Information Network
- Marketing Infrastructure in Cooperative/Private/Joint Sector with the participation of wholesalers, retailers and farmers.
APEDA helps in the export promotion under its existing schemes and provides freight subsidy and packaging.
NHB will release directly and seek funds from Department of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Government of India.
The project has various activities like
Onfarm handling, Pack houses, cold storage units, refrigerated vans, funded by NHB. And Wholesale markets, Rural Primary markets, Apni mandies and Grading lab funded by DMI. |
