The objective of the scheme is correcting the imbalances in availability of affordable/reliable tertiary level healthcare in the country in general and to augment facilities for quality medical education in the under-served States. |

Outlay of Rs.120 Crores per institution, of which Rs.100 Crores would be borne by the Central Government and the remaining Rs.20 by the respective State Government. |
