Department of Animal Husbandry

 
Description/Purpose:

The objective of the scheme is to make availability of sufficient quantity of fodder. To reach this goal, Veterinary-aid institutions have been set up across the state.

 
Particulars:

The department is running two seed multiplication farms at Sunni in Shimla district and Kotla Barog in Solan district. The department are providing following facilities to livestock owners:

1. Supplying seed of cultivable fodder crops.
2. Supplying improved fodder grass roots and plants.
3. De-weeding and regeneration of pasture land by seedling with temperate grasses and fodder trees.
4. Raising fodder plant nurseries, maintaining parent stock of grass roots and fodder trees and re-distributing them.
The farmers can approach the Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Deputy Director offices at the District Headquarters.

Individuals, Community.
 
Eligibility criteria:

Residents of Himachal Pradesh, growing fodder crops, are eligible for availing benefits under this scheme.
