Life in Hills

I like the beauty of nature in the hills. The tension free life where you don't have to think about your daily bread and butter. Major means of earning are from agriculture and tourism. We have most of our festivals during the winters and we all enjoy it together. It is a very special thing.

I love it during summers. Being a guide, I like trekking and camping with tourists. I also like adventure sports like skiing and snowboarding in winters. The best thing about the hills is the people, they are honest and kindhearted, you can never feel lonely because people here love to live together and help each other.

What I don't like is the lack of facilities like hospitals, transport during winters; education is possible only till higher secondary, so one would have to go out of town for higher studies. Money is all that matters outside Spiti. It is really tough to survive there, I think.”
