“I have seen many changes, more than anyone else in the village. I have seen my village grow, I have seen improved water supply and sanitation, new roads being constructed and increase in my own living standards and of my fellow villagers. We have introduced many modern technologies to our lives like electricity, improved agricultural technology, etc. and they are making our life surprisingly easy.
I would like to see good schools for my children, well-staffed hospitals, sanitation and water facilities. I would also like to see improved agricultural practices being applied to our fields. I am from the older generation and am happy with the developments taking place in my village and adjoining villages. Motorable roads, education facilities, sports facilities, health care facilities etc. are the milestones of development and more of these are required to cater to the ever increasing population.
These developments also have demerits, in the form of invasion of western culture in our customs, rituals, food habits and dress sense. Some of the developments have some negative impact on our traditions and culture. They are becoming endangered but our present generation is cautious when it comes to adopting these cultures and I am happy with them.”
