Development

“I am very happy with the development taking place at present but a lot more can be done like more schools can be set up, roads, roads connecting different villages, proper water supply systems, and health facilities in each village, etc. I want to see a high school in my village, one health center, a road connecting my village to the main road, and mobile towers.

I think modern technology is helpful in making our life more comfortable. For instance, mobile phones are very helpful in communicating with each other and the television provides us with information from all over the world.

In my village in the last 10 years I have noticed that people have become very much absorbed in their own lives. The development process has had a direct impact on our culture specially the youth. Traditional dresses are rarely worn and festivals are not celebrated with the enthusiasm and spirit like before. Traditional forms of dance are disappearing. Everybody is busy with their own lives and there are no activities happening at the community level.”
