This renewable innovation of energy is a computer – controlled and multi winged, kite like structure, which has been developed to float at a height of 2000 feet in order to generate power. Mr. Bevirt from Joby Energy Inc has invented it.

 Also known as the ‘Aerial Kite’, this device operates at almost 5 times the height of a regular/ conventional turbine. Due to the increased height, it results in more power since it is responsible for increasing the wind’s speed and consistency. The working is through a tether to a ground station, which basically transfers DC power that is generated into AC power via a power grid.

Airborne Wind Turbines will prove very successful because tropospheric winds are capable of producing up to 870 terawatts of energy!  This innovation is especially useful for areas located in high mountainous regions with sparse population where the wind speed would also be high and power could be generated for inhabitants of the area.
